Fort ikoma airstrip

A small airstrip that is located a short distance north west of Serengeti national park. It is seldom used, mainly due to its proximity to the larger Seronera airstrip and the one in Grumeti.

What to do there?Game drives in the nearby areas, with three parks to chose from, Fort Ikoma and even the wildebeest migration to see. Or just catch a flight out of or into the area.

Best time to visit?Any time of the year.

How to get there?

By air or by vehicle, with the previous one offering unprecedented views of either Serengeti or Grumeti game reserve, from above.

The roads leading up to the place can be used all year round, though you may need a better 4x4 if intending to roam the rest of the surrounding parks during the rainy season. There also are passenger buses that go through the area every now and then.
