A small airstrip that is located a short distance south of lake Ndutu in northern Tanzania. At the time of writing (2017) only small planes can land in the area, and there are facilities in the form of toilets, a parking area, and a small airport lounge.
It does allow for fast and easy access to the area around lake Ndutu and Masek throughout the year. For a list of the companies that fly to the location, please see our flights page.
Best time to visitAny time of the year, with more emphasis towards the end of the year, when the wildebeest migration is in or near the area.
Location of Lake ndutu airstripLake Ndutu airstrip is located about a 5 minute drive south of the lake and next to the Ndutu ranger post of Ngorongoro conservation area. At the time of writing (2017), there are several special campsites, privately owned tented camps and one or two lodges in the area. For more information on its location, please see the map below.
How to get thereBy flight or vehicle. Fly there from kisongo - Arusha, or any of the airstrips and airports in the country.
