One of Nairobi national park's picnic sites and observation points, situated high on a hill and minutes away from the main gate.

It has a picnic area, with facilities such as toilets, a parking area and a stone-built rondavel for those sunny days.

It offers panoramic, bird's eye views of the plains nearby, where Impalas are known to spend most of their time.

What to do there?Game viewing, bird watching, with a multitude of species to see, including Impalas and if your lucky, their predators.

Or go for a picnic, bush functions — either way a pair of binoculars along with some food and refreshments may come in handy.

Location of Impala observation pointImpala observation point, sits on the raised woodlands of Nairobi national park's western end.

Almost everything east of here is on lower ground, making it a good view point.

How to get thereBy vehicle only, less than ten minutes from the main gate of nairobi national park.

There are JKIA and Wilson airports nearby, and a regional train station, all of which are north of the park.

A vehicle would still be needed to venture into the park.
