A small field near the western end of Silale swamp of Tarangire national park. It has facilities such as park benches and provides amazing views of the swamps from a higher vantage point.

Best time to visit?Any time of the year not in the rainy season of March to June, as there are fewer animals near the Tarangire river during this time.

Location of Silale swamp picnic siteThe picnic site is located on the eastern end of Tarangire national park, with the Silale swamp next to and east of it. It also is a short distance east of the Tarangire river.

How to get there?By road or air, with a number of airstrips to use inside the park that are reachable from most airports in the country. Or you could use a vehicle, whether privately owned, rental or tours.

Park tariffs for a normal self drive safari normally include conservation fees, vehicle entry fees along with camping or accommodation fees — if spending the night.
