A public campsite located near the banks of the Mara river, and in northern Masai Mara national reserve. It has little to no facilities, with campers having to bring their own tents, food and equipment.

What to do there?Spend a night under the stars, have game drives in nearby areas, birdwatching just remember to bring your own firewood for camp fires. For a list of other attractions in the area, please see the attractions page.

Best time to visitThe dry seasons of July to February each year, with the months of September and October bringing the migrating wildebeest and zebra herds to the area.

Location of Eluai campsiteEluai campsite is situated near the Mara river — in its early stages, at the heart of maasai mara and near the eastern border of the mara triangle.

How to get thereBy air or road, with the mara north conservancy airstrip being within walking distance although there are other airstrips in the Masai Mara national reserve.

Or take the scenic route and drive there — less than a day's drive from Nairobi, although the hotels, lodges and tented camp sites in the area can provide vehicles for those coming by air.
