Altitude: 1000 m.a.m.s.l.

One of three special campsites that are located inside lake Manyara national park and on the lake's western shore. Its location makes it one of the most scenic camps in the park, a good place to see both wildlife and the lake - something that gave rise to its name.

It is termed special because, there are no facilities such as toilets, pre-booking is mandatory, and its use is exclusive to the person or group that booked it, unlike public campsites which provide the opposite; However, accommodation is still provided on a bring your own tent basis, and guests have to bring their own food and equipment.

What to do there?Spend a night camping under the stars, and closer to the lake - a good spot to catch those dusk or dawn lake views. Game drives could also be done in the nearby area, both during the day and night.

For a list of other things to see in the area, please see our attractions page.

Best time to visit?Any time of the year

Location of Endabash lake show campsiteEndabash lake show campsite is located on the western shores of lake Manyara, and a stone throw away from the walls of the majestic rift valley escarpment.

For more information on this location, please see the map below.

How to get there?By air or road, with the first using lake Manyara airstrip near by, though a vehicle would still be needed to get into the park.

Getting here by road can be done using a private or rental vehicle, with no preference as to the vehicle type — though 4x4's are recommended for night game drives.

There are passenger buses that go through Mto wa Mbu and the park's northern gate from most regions of the country, but again a vehicle would still be needed to get into the park - which you could get in Mto wa Mbu.

For more information on park fees and tariffs, please see the TANAPA website. Tariffs for a normal self game drive usually include conservation fees, vehicle fees and possibly camping or accommodation fees.
