One of three special campsites that are located inside lake Manyara
national park and on the lake's western shore. Its location makes it one of the most scenic camps in the park, a good place to see both wildlife and the lake - something that gave rise to its name.
It is termed special because, there are no facilities such as toilets, pre-booking is mandatory, and its use is exclusive to the person or group that booked it, unlike public campsites which provide the opposite; However, accommodation is still provided on a bring your own tent basis, and guests have to bring their own food and equipment. What to do there?
Spend a night camping under the stars, and closer to the lake - a good spot to catch those dusk or dawn lake views. Game drives could also be done in the nearby area, both during the day and night.

By air or road, with the first using lake Manyara airstrip near by, though a vehicle would still be needed to get into the park.

There are passenger buses that go through Mto wa Mbu and the park's northern gate from most regions of the country, but again a vehicle would still be needed to get into the park - which you could get in Mto wa Mbu.
