Endabash riverside campsite

One of two public campsites that are located inside lake Manyara national park, and the only one situated along distance from the civilization of Mto wa Mbu. Campers have to bring their own ents, food and equipment.

It is termed public because there are facilities such as toilets with running water, as well as a kitchen and a dining area. Also pre – booking is not required and accommodation is not exclusive, making it possible for more than one person or group to use it at the same time.

What to do there?Spend a night camping under the stars, with the possibility of enjoying views of the Majestic rift valley escarpment at dusk or dawn. Or even share stories of your travels with fellow tourists that you may meet here.

Location of Endabash riverside campsiteEndabash riverside campsite is located next to the Endabash river, and amidst a rainforest on the western shores of lake Manyara national park. It also is within walking distance of the walls of the rift valley escarpment — about an hour drive south of Mto wa Mbu.

How to get there?By air or by road, with the first using lake Manyara airstrip that sits next to the park's north western border.

There are passenger buses that to Mto wa Mbu from most regions in the country, some of which go through Serengeti national park and Ngorongoro conservation area. However, you still may need a vehicle to get into the park, whether private, rental or tours.

There is no preference as to the vehicle type — though 4x4's are recommended for night game drives. For more information on park fees and tariffs, please see the TANAPA website.

Tariffs for a normal self game drive usually include conservation fees, vehicle fees and possibly camping or accommodation fees.
