What to do there?Spend a night under the stars, and closer to the calls of lions and other sounds of nature. For a list of other attractions that you could see in the area, please see the attractions page or the section below.

Best time to visit?During October and November, when the whole area is filled with herds of wildebeest and Zebra, coming in from the north. But they also can be found south of here until March and south west from April to June.

On the other hand, big cat viewing can be done at any time of the year.

Location of Lobo campsiteLobo public campsite is located on the eastern side of the main Lobo Kopjes, just a short distance away from the Lobo village and Lobo airstrip. It also sits in a part of Serengeti national park that is famous for its large number of lions.

For more information on this location, please see the map below.

How to get there?By air or by vehicle, with the nearest Lobo airstrip being a few minutes away, with the added advantage of having amazing views of the plains from above. There are other airstrips in Serengeti, but either way, you still would need to arrange for vehicular transportation once on the ground.

To get here by vehicle, would require half a day's worth of driving — if coming from park gates south of here, but could also take a week or more if intending to do some more sightseeing.

There is no preference for 4x4s, and both rentals and privately owned vehicles can be used. For more information on park fees and tariffs, please see the TANAPA website.
