Ndovu campsite

One of several private campsites that are situated near the western banks of the Mara river. It has no facilities, and its use is exclusive to those who book it beforehand, as well as make a down payment.

It's name comes from the Swahili word for elephant.

What to do there?View some wildlife both from a distance as well as upclose, when they stray into the campsite. For security reasons, the park requires that two rangers accompany you at the campsite.

Best time to visit?During the months of August and September when the annual migration of wildebeest and zebra is in Masai Mara.

Location of Ndovu campsiteNdovu campsite is situated near the banks of the Mara river, a clearing amidst the rainforest that grows from the river's waters. It is also on the northern end of the Masai Mara national reserve.

How to get there?Mostly by road, as the nearest airstrips are a bit far out - requiring a vehicle to travel the rest of the way. This could be a private or rental one, with some of the hotels near the park being able to provide one of their own.
