Lake manze of Selous game reserve, a view from the shore. [1]

Lake Manze is one of the larger oxbow lakes on the northern side of the Rufiji River flood plain, the others being Lakes Tagalala, Nzerakera and Siwandu. The lake is home to a wide array of game, including resident hippo's and crocodiles.

It also serves as a watering hole for other animals, especially during the dry seasons, from herbivores seeking greener pastures to the predators that hunt them. This makes it a good spot view game.

Boating safaris on the lake can be arranged for better game viewing and getting closer to the hippos. The lake also offers beautiful sights such as sunsets and vegetation.

Location of lake ManzeLake Manze is located on the nothern half of the Rufiji river flood plain, approximately 120 kilometres from the river mouth. It also is well inside Selous game reserve - on the eastern coast of Tanzania. For more information on its location please see the map below.
