A museum showing the history of medicine in the southern cape of Africa.

It is housed in the old city hospital for contagious diseases — one of the first in the area, built in 1859 by then governor of the Cape colony, sir George Grey.

Its collection includes past medical equipment from the area — some of which are set up in sections like the dentist room, consulting room, operating theatre, a dispensary, hospital ward and traditional African medicine.
