An entrance/exit gate for Aberdare national park, and the nearest to the Mweiga HQ and airstrip.
What to do there?Get your tickets/park permits checked before entry, as well as information about the park, including state of roads.
Most payment services and smart cards are available at the HQ nearby.
KWS uses electronic payment means i.e. bank deposit slips, MPESA, credit/debit cards and safari cards.
Best time to visitAny time when it is not raining, when some roads may become inaccessible
Location of Treetops gateTreetops gate is on Aberdare national park's north eastern end, along a road that leads to the nearby Treetops lodge.
It is also near Mweiga airstrip, and the KWS HQ for the park.
How to get thereBy car or air, with the nearest airstrip being Mweiga, several minutes away.
Whichever transportation method you choose, you would still need a vehicle to get into the park.
The path to the gate is signposted, off the Nyeri - Nyahururu road.
