Arusha national park is one of the few national parks inside Tanzania that are close to a large city. It has distinct geographical features such as mount Meru, Momella lakes and the Ngurudoto crater and most of the animals you would find here are not predators with the exception of a few leopards. Other predators such as hyenas and lions have long been extinct, although they can be found in other national parks of Tanzania.
Most of the park is filled with trees, a rainforest in all but a few places such as the Momella lakes and the highlands of mount Meru.
