Moir's hut is an old and dilapidated pyramid shaped-wooden hut that is located on the Shira plateau of
mount Kilimanjaro.
The hut was one of the first ever built for accommodation on the mountain, but is no longer used anymore.
It now bears a lot of names ("XX was here") on the inside that were left by the many Kilimanjaro climbers that have visited the place.

Location of Moirs hut tourist siteMoir's hut is located is located about 100m north of the Moir's hut campsite and next to a volcanic ridge/wall in the north eastern part of Kilimanjaro.
Most people hiking on the Shira, Lemosho and
Machame routes can actually visit the hut by making a detour along the way.
However, only the northern circuit route actually goes through
Moir's hut with no detours involved.
The huts location is also in the alpine desert region, with little to no plants or animals around and little rainfall that quickly gets drained into the ever dry volcanic soils.
There also are quite a lot of rocks nearby.
