Nainokanoka village

    A small maasai village located at the eastern base of Olmoti crater, of Ngorongoro conservation area. It serves as a starting point for hikes to the top of Olmoti's rim, as well as to nearby mountains such as Lolmalasin and Losirua.

    A thriving community, complete with a school, a dispensary etc., it can also serve as a destination for cultural tourism. There is a ranger's post in the outskirts, where tourists intending to do any hiking from the area, can get a ranger from.

    Location of Nainokanoka villageNainokanoka village is about a 10 minutes drive from the eastern rim of Ngorongoro crater, and right next to Olmoti crater - in northern Tanzania. The empakaai crater's eastern rim lies about a 45 minutes drive north of it, passing Bulati village along the way. For more information on its location, please see the map below.

    How to get thereBy vehicle, be it a private, rental or tours and travel one - from the nearest Loduare gate or anywhere else inside the conservation area. There is no preference of 4x4, but you wil need to pay for the respective permits before heading out here (see NCAA website for more info).
