One of Namibia's museums — showcasing a history of Grootfontein and areas nearby.

It is housed inside a renovated old schutztruppe fort, from the late 29th century — a square building with a large courtyard at its centre

Some of its collection include memorabilia from the Dorstland trekkers that passed through here, the German schutztruppe, a smithy for making ox wagons, minerals found in the area, and other tools and machinery used by some of its residents in the past.

It also has some tools and details from the area's indigenous tribes — the Himba and Kavango.
