Tsavo west national park, located just off the Voi — Taveta highway. It has limited facilities with its sibling gate across the road having significantly more.
What to do there?Entry or exit into the park, permit checks, though other things may have to be done at the Maktau south gate. Or visit the other attractions in the park, a list of which can be found on our

Best time to visit?Any time of the year, though the rest of the park may be best visited during the dry seasons.

There is
Maktau airstrip nearby that can be reached from most airports in the country, though you may still need a vehicle to truly roam the park.
Or drive to the location using a private or rental vehicle, and enjoy more of the park's red dusty roads, its animals and scenery.
