Former residence of
Solomon Tshekisho Plaatje, a famous South African intellectual, Journalist, writer and the first secretary general of the ANC — then called the South African Native National Congress.
It is said to be where he wrote Mhudi — one of his novels, and also where his final years were spent before being buried in the same city in 1932.
Today it houses a museum about his life, as well as a library with some of his books and literature.
