One of the many security gates into Ngorongoro crater, and it is termed mini because unlike the main gates - it is already inside the conservation area. Thus the required permits and equipment are inspected at the gate.
It is both an entrance and exit gate.
What to do there?Get your permits, vehicle and equipment checked before entering or exiting the crater. At the time of writing, only 4x4 vehicles are allowed into it with a heavy duty jack and spade/hoe.

Location of Lemala mini gateThe lemala gate is located on the north eastern rim of Ngorongoro crater, and along the road to Olmoti. It is about an hour drive from Loduare gate. For more information on is location, please see the map below.
How to get there?Mostly by vehicle driving from one of the nearby park gates, accommodations or campsites. There are hiking routes (see NCAA website) that mights ge you closer to the gate, but not into the crater.
