A small ranger's encampment that is located near the north eastern shores of lake Manyara national park. It also serves as the start of the Msasa walking trail, that goes all the way to the top of the rift valley wall.

It along with Msasa picnic site are in an area that has amazing views of the lake as well as the rift valley walls nearby.

What to do there?Get information about the park such as directions or a ranger to escort you for your game drive or walking safari, though you can also get these at the main gate. Night game drives are also possible in the area nearby.

Location of Msasa ranger postMsasa ranger post is located south east of the rift valley walls, beyond which lies ngorongoro crater. It also sits inside lake Manyara national park, about a 5 minutes drive from its north eastern border .

There also are campsites, hotels and lodges for accommodation in the area, with majority being outside the park. For more information on this location, please see the map below.

How to get there?By air or road, with the first using the nearby lake Manyara airstrip, though an arrangement for vehicle transportation from there into the park would still be required.

Alternatively, you could use a private or rental vehicle to get here, with no preference as to the vehicle type, whether 4x4's or otherwise. It takes about a maximum of three to four hours to drive from nearby towns such as Mto wa Mbu and even cities such as Arusha.
