A small dolomite hill whose name is a local word for 'place where lots of lions are found' 1.

It is said that lions regularly gave birth to cubs in a lair among the rocks at its top 1.

Shrubs and trees grow all over it, all of which have a much greener shade than that found in the surroundings.

Location of Gamgoas koppieIt sits on the eastern end of Etosha national park, near Halali camp and less than a half hour's drive from the Etosha Salt Pan.

It also is next to the road east from Halali camp to Goas waterhole.

How to get thereBy road — about a 6km drive east of Halali camp and Halali airstrip.
