Altitude: 950 m.a.m.s.l.
One of the campsites that are located on eastern end of
Udzungwa mountains national park, with the name 'njia panda' being swahili for cross roads. It is located near a meeting point for trails from Lumemo and Lumbero with that from Mwanihana.
It is the sixth when coming from
Lumemo ranger post in the south, and the second when coming from the eastern border. All visitors to the camp have to bring their own tents.
What to do there?Spend a night camping amidst the rain forest, after a long day hiking or just use it as a rest stop. For a list of other attractions in the area, please see our

Best time to visit?Any time of the year not in the rainy season of March to June.
Location of Njia panda campsiteNjia panda campsite of Udzungwa mountains national park is located where the trails from
Mwanihana peak, Lumemo ranger post and Luhombero peak meet. It is also in the rain forest region, and near the early stages of the Sonjo river.

How to get there?Via a three to five day hike from Lumemo ranger post in the south, about half that from
Luhomero peak and one day from Sonjo ranger post in the east. All of these ranger posts can be reached by air, land or train from major cities of the country.
